About Eddie

Eddie is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive young Labrador mix who is looking for a patient and loving forever home. He's approximately 1.5 years old and weighs about 37 lbs. Eddie can be a bit nervous and shy, especially with physical contact, and may keep his distance at first. However, with time, patience, and kindness, he truly begins to open up. He enjoys walks and is well-behaved on a leash. Once he feels safe, Eddie is playful, affectionate, and even gives sweet kisses! He's also sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women. Eddie was rescued with his sister from a life on the streets where they sought safety under cars. He's sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder, so a calm and understanding environment will help him feel secure. Eddie will thrive with a family who understands shy dogs and is willing to give him the space he needs to build trust. In return, he promises to be a loyal and loving companion. If you're looking for a kind-hearted dog who just needs a chance to feel safe and loved, Eddie could be the perfect match for you.

Ideal Home

Eddie will thrive in a calm and understanding environment where he feels secure, especially since he is sensitive to loud noises. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred, and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be a great fit. He needs a family with a real intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience about the needs of street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is a plus, or a willingness to hire a trainer. Families with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are ideal.

Ongoing Health

Eddie has received a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated for DHPPI and Rabies, and treated for Bordetella. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for 4DX and heartworm. He is on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. All this information is documented in his vaccine booklet and health certificate.

Training & Support

Eddie is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past trauma. Patience and understanding are crucial for building trust and a strong bond.
