Rumi Cutie the Total Sweetheart

Rumi Cutie is the epitome of a sweetheart, an incredibly loving and happy-go-lucky girl who wants to be everyone's best friend. She melts into you whenever she gets the chance and radiates joy wherever she goes. With her heart of gold and those gorgeous, soulful brown eyes, she’ll have you smiling in no time.

Rumi Cutie is thought to be a pit bull mix, around 6 years old and weighing 53 lbs. As with all rescues, her exact breed and age are a mystery!

Ideal Home

Rumi Cutie is a true gem with children, even those as young as 5. She handles their energy with remarkable calm and patience, taking treats gently and showing a natural understanding of how to be tender. She's loving, tolerant, and sweet with kids, and seems unfazed by all the commotion that comes with them. She's already got the makings of a wonderful family dog.

She's also dog-friendly and has met a variety of canine companions. Rumi enjoys the company of other dogs and is more of a relaxed hangout buddy. She'd do best with a medium-energy male dog who enjoys a companion but isn't looking for a constant playmate. However, Rumi doesn't need another dog to be happy and thrives on human affection.

Rumi also met our resident cat, Biggie, with wonderful results! She was respectful, appropriate, and showed no interest in chasing him. Biggie was also comfortable around her. We can arrange a cat sleepover to see how they do in your home.

Rumi would thrive in a home with a backyard for stretching her legs and exploring, but she could also do well in an apartment or condo with proper exercise and socialization. She's happy with a nice walk, a trip to the park, or some indoor enrichment.

Ongoing Health

Rumi Cutie is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injection, and a heartworm test and treatment if needed. She also has a microchip with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Rumi is eager to learn and motivated by treats. She already knows "sit" and "down" and genuinely wants to please. She walks nicely on leash, only pulling occasionally when she smells something particularly interesting, and responds well to gentle correction. Rumi is also crate and potty trained and has excellent house manners.

Transportation

Rumi is currently in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue's USDA-certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track her journey in real-time and receive photo updates.

The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting, transport*, a Martingale collar, a health certificate, and a lifetime of love.
