Elmo

Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who came to us after an injury. He has a bullet lodged near his spine, but it has since become encapsulated and specialists agree that removing it would be too risky. The good news is that this does not define Elmo’s future! He is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life. Elmo is sweet, resilient, and quietly brave. He has been through more than any dog should, yet he greets the world with trust and calm. He is ready for a safe home with soft beds and an ample supply of snacks.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he does not need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. He would thrive with kids over 10 or sturdy kids who are old enough to understand his medical situation. While he has not lived with cats, he showed some mild interest, so dog-savvy cats might be okay.

Ongoing Health

Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine which has become encapsulated. Specialists have advised against removal due to the risks involved. He is expected to live a long and happy life without issues related to this.

Training & Support

Elmo enjoys his walks, his people, and his canine friends. He is good with other dogs and loves people. He has a particular appreciation for a comfy dog bed.

Transporation

Elmo is currently in a foster home in Tennessee. We can arrange transport to your home through our dedicated transport service, or you can pick him up yourself. We are able to transport to all 50 states.
