Hi, I'm Odie. I'm a 4-year-old, 65-pound black Rottweiler mix who's looking for a safe, understanding, and supportive new home. My journey started out a little rough, found on the side of the road as a puppy, but I found a loving connection. This early experience has left me with some anxiety and fear, but I'm working on it every day! I'm neutered, house-trained, and currently on Reconcile to help manage my anxiety, which has already made a big difference. While I can be a bit nervous around new people, once I trust you, I form a very deep bond. I'm incredibly gentle with my family's 5-month-old baby and have always been sweet with her. I haven't lived with other dogs, but I did well when boarded, and I'm not a fan of cats. I'm a playful and smart pup who loves my toys, gets the zoomies, and knows commands like "sit," "speak," and "shake." I genuinely want to please and just need someone who understands how to guide me.
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a home with an experienced dog owner who is patient, steady, and confident. Someone who understands fear-based behaviors and can set clear boundaries while still being gentle. I'm not a match for a timid handler or a first-time dog owner and would do best in a household without young children under 14 years of age. I can become overstimulated and redirect to those around me, and I have had a single bite incident. I need someone who will help me feel safe, not overwhelmed, and provide training to teach me that I can relax around strangers and do not need to defend the household. When I'm left alone, I do best with access to just one room.

Training & Support
I can be protective of my person and may bark or growl when strangers approach. The crate scares me, and getting me inside can be tough. I sometimes get into things like trash or random objects when I'm overwhelmed. I need someone who can provide consistent structure and confidence-building.
