ASH

Ash is a petite and affectionate girl who previously lived successfully with other dogs and cats. She even enjoyed cuddling with children in her former home. However, Ash can become overwhelmed and anxious, leading to very loud vocalizations that can sound like screaming. She can also get over-aroused during play, sometimes grabbing clothing or being a bit too rough, which has led to her needing a home without small children or with experienced handlers who can guide her.

Most recently, Ash had a bite incident with a volunteer where she bit the volunteer's hand, causing a minor injury. She also had another incident where she repeatedly jumped and bit at a volunteer's shirt, tearing it. Due to these ongoing behavioral challenges and lack of improvement, Ash is in urgent need of a special placement.

Ideal Home

Ash is looking for a patient and understanding individual or family with a good sense of humor. An ideal home would not be restricted by close neighbors due to her vocalizations and would provide structure, exercise, and consistency. Ash would do best in a home where someone is often present or can help her gradually learn to settle. Given her history, a home without small children or with experienced handlers is recommended.
