Fiona is a 1-year-old, 24lb pittie mix with a heart full of love to give. She came to us as a young mother with her baby, Donkey, and due to a rough start in life, she's still a bit shy about the world around her. Fiona finds comfort in her pen, her safe space, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she's learning to trust. She'll eat in your presence and even allow pets before retreating. She adores cuddling with Donkey and is slowly discovering the joy of human affection. Fiona is quiet, sweet, and has a signature look with her tongue sticking out! Her foster is dedicated to helping her see that humans can be good. She is incredibly timid and scared at first, but she's also incredibly sweet, curious, and adorable. She is crate trained and making progress with potty training. We know that with love and comfort, she'll blossom into the confident pup she's meant to be.
Ideal Home
Fiona would thrive in a home where she can continue to build confidence and learn that the world isn't so scary. Patience and a gentle approach will be key to helping her feel safe and loved.
Ongoing Health
Fiona is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Her spay surgery will be scheduled when she is age-appropriate and is covered by her adoption fee. Adopters must be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach to complete the spay/neuter at our approved clinics.
Training & Support
Fiona is crate trained and working on her potty training. As with all our dogs, adopters are required to commit to ongoing training and socialization.

- A completed adoption application is required to move forward with adoption.
- We conduct a vet reference check. All resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies.
- We perform a virtual home visit call to discuss the adoption process and see your home.
