Malouk

Meet Malouk! This distinguished gentleman is a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart of gold and a soul full of quiet love. Malouk came to us after his person sadly passed away, and though he was with his previous family for some time, he wasn't receiving the care he truly deserved. Now, he's ready to embark on a new chapter and find a forever home where he can be cherished and showered with the attention he's been waiting for.

Malouk is blind, but this sweet senior navigates the world with incredible resilience and a zest for life's simple pleasures. His favorite activities include leisurely walks, long naps in sunbeams, and, of course, treats – lots and lots of treats! Every now and then, a playful spark ignites, reminding us of the joy he still finds in the world. He's incredibly friendly with people, has a soft spot for children, and can even be a wonderful companion to calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his needs.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He'd be perfectly happy as an only pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can spook easily due to his blindness.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind and can experience some anxiety due to this. He does very well with calming medication and a consistent routine.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may mark indoors, and belly bands have been a simple, effective solution. He will need continued leash training as he can pull, especially when excited or unsure. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it's the perfect fit.
