Hello! My name is Uncle (also known as Umka), and I'm searching for a loving new family after my longtime owner had to move into assisted living. It's been a big change, but I'm settling into foster care and showing everyone what a sweet little companion I am. I was accustomed to gourmet human snacks (cheese was definitely a favorite!) and am still adjusting to regular dog food. Luckily, my foster mom sprinkles a little (dog-safe) cheddar on top, which makes dinner much more acceptable to my refined palate. It has to be all soft food because I don't have any teeth!
I'm a calm, easygoing little guy who spends much of the day happily snoozing. If you're looking for a quiet companion who enjoys cozy afternoons as much as you do, we might be a perfect match. My favorite place to nap? Curled up on your lap, of course. I'm wonderful with people of all ages, from babies and young children to seniors. As long as everyone is gentle and kind, I'm happy to make new friends.
When it comes to other dogs, I'm a bit more complicated. On walks, I am quite vocal when I see unfamiliar dogs because they make me feel a little nervous. Once I actually got to meet a couple of dogs during a recent playdate, I decided they were pretty nice! With slow introductions and the right personality match, I could do well with another friendly dog or cat in the home. I'm also a fantastic travel companion. I ride beautifully in the car and would love to join you on adventures, whether that's a weekend getaway or simply running errands together.
I'm potty trained, though I do best when I'm given a potty break every 3-4 hours. I may sleep through most of the day, but the moment I hear a treat bag crinkle or catch the scent of something delicious, I'm instantly awake and gently pawing your leg in hopes you'll share a snack. If you're looking for a loving, loyal companion who wants nothing more than a warm lap, kind words, and a little cheese now and then, I'd love to meet you. I have so much love left to give, and I'm hoping my next home will be my forever home.

Ongoing Health
Uncle has no teeth, so he requires soft food.
