About Lincoln

Meet Lincoln! This smart and affectionate Labrador Retriever was rescued from a shelter in San Antonio after being hit by a car and never reclaimed. He's a fully grown, under-50-pound boy, making him the perfect mid-size companion. Lincoln is incredibly loving, eager to please, and highly trainable, especially with his strong Labrador food drive. He's the definition of Man's Best Friend – when he bonds with you, he'll place his front paws on your chest and gaze into your eyes, and he'll "roo" in excitement when he's all revved up!

Ideal Home

Lincoln is a moderately active dog and surprisingly great in an apartment with his basic skills. He's looking for a home with older teens or adults only, as his back legs are sensitive from a past car accident.

Ongoing Health

Lincoln has residual trauma from shelter life and some battle scars from scuffles in his past. His back legs are a bit sensitive since his car accident.

Training & Support

Lincoln is kennel trained, house broken, and lounges around the house when indoors. He has not been destructive and his temporary foster describes him as low maintenance. He loves working on peanut butter lick mats, Kongs, and food puzzles in his crate while you're away at work. He is a puller on leash and does jump up on you when he's excited. He has made great improvements practicing neutrality around other dogs on leash and ignores them as long as they stay out of his personal space, but he's still quite insecure around them.
