Hi y'all! My name is Carrie, and I'm a beautiful, round 2-year-old girl ready to find my forever family! My journey began on a former Army base in Anniston, Alabama, where I was found with a male dog who's believed to be my brother. We were named after roads in the neighborhood where we were discovered. Some kind people gained our trust by feeding us and helping us feel safe, and before long, they connected us with Sandi Paws Rescue and my wonderful foster mom. My brother was lucky enough to head to Wisconsin quickly and find his forever family, but I had one extra hurdle to overcome—I tested positive for heartworms. The good news? I completed my treatment like a champ and am now officially heartworm negative! Woohoo! I'm a striking girl with a gray and black coat and a deep dark stripe running down my spine that makes me truly one of a kind. My foster mom says I'm gorgeous, but I'll let you be the judge of that! I've learned all about living in a home and am kennel trained with a pretty reliable routine. When I know my foster mom is awake, I'm always happy to let her know that I'm awake too and ready to start the day! I love spending time outdoors, exploring new sights and smells, and going for neighborhood walks. I'm affectionate and enjoy back rubs, kisses, and spending time with my people. I get along well with other dogs who have a similar energy and temperament. I am very curious about cats and other small animals, so I'd likely do best in a home without cats, birds, or chickens.
Ideal Home
I'd love a home where I can explore new sights and smells on neighborhood walks and enjoy time outdoors. While I get along with other dogs, I'm very curious about cats and other small animals, so I'd likely do best in a home without cats, birds, or chickens.
Ongoing Health
I recently completed heartworm treatment and am now heartworm negative!
Training & Support
I am kennel trained and have a pretty reliable routine. Car rides aren't my favorite at first, but I settle down quickly. Baths aren't my favorite either, but I'm okay with a quick washcloth wipe-down. I may be a little shy when we first meet, but with patience, you'll discover a sweet, loyal companion.
