Meet Lefou!

Lefou is a 6-month-old shepherd mix weighing in at about 42 lbs, and he’s truly the best of both worlds. He has a playful, energetic side—especially when he’s romping around with his dog friends—but he also knows how to relax and enjoy his own space. He’s affectionate with his people and will sweetly come over for some love, then happily settle into his own bed or favorite chair nearby. This smart boy absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful companion his size or larger. Wrestling, chasing, and playing are his favorite activities, and having a canine buddy helps him feel confident and fulfilled.

Ideal Home

Lefou would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion his size or larger. He needs a family willing to go at his pace when meeting new people, build trust with treats and affection, and continue his socialization.

Ongoing Health

Lefou is a healthy boy with no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Lefou is incredibly intelligent and food-motivated, making training a breeze. He already knows commands like sit, stay, and lay down and is always ready to learn more. Puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and enrichment activities are right up his alley. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. Lefou is currently working on leash training, as leashes are still a bit scary for him, but he’s making progress every day. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he will grow into a great walking or hiking companion. Lefou can be shy when meeting new people, so continued socialization is important.
