Cade

Heddo! My name is Cade, though I also respond to "Big Stinky!" I'm a 5-year-old, 90-pound American Bulldog who has been patiently waiting for my forever home for four long years! I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after being found abandoned in Azusa, California, in April 2022. Despite my size, I have a heart overflowing with love to give. My favorite pastime is sprawling out on the couch, showing off my belly, and indulging in a good nap.

I can be a little cautious around new men, needing some time to warm up and feel comfortable, especially if a female is present. But once I trust you, my loyalty is fierce and unwavering. I love outdoor adventures, whether it's a scenic hike or splashing in water – I enjoy exploring new scents and discovering what's around the next bend. I also have a knack for finding the biggest sticks on our walks, which I proudly parade like a trophy!

I'm an independent fellow but cherish quality time with my people. While I don't need to be in the same room constantly, I do enjoy resting my head on your lap for a good butt scratch. I prefer being petted on my back until I build trust, then head scratches are welcome. I get along well with other dogs my size or smaller, provided they are friendly, but I do tend to chase cats, so a feline-free home would be best. I've also had experience with a baby in my foster home and proved to be gentle and attentive.

I'm highly food-motivated, making training a breeze – just offer a tasty treat, and I'm ready to work! I'm also a great alarm system and will let you know when someone's at the door. Squeaky toys, tug-of-war, bones, and frozen treats are among my favorites. My foster parents and trainer have been working hard on my skills, and I'm proud to say I walk well on a leash (though I now prefer off-leash adventures thanks to my recall training!), I'm e-collar and muzzle trained, and I know multiple commands. I'm a quick learner and thrive on mental stimulation from puzzle toys. A yard for zoomies would be amazing, but park trips are also a big hit! I'm looking for a patient and caring family who will embrace me for who I am and take me on exciting adventures. Previous experience with American Bulldogs would be a bonus!

I'm food-motivated and eager to please, making training enjoyable. I'm already e-collar and muzzle trained, know multiple commands, and have excellent recall. I'm also a great alert dog.

Transportation

I am currently located in Los Angeles, CA. We have successfully placed dogs with families across the country and even internationally. Approved applicants are typically expected to travel to Los Angeles to meet and transport their new companion home, often making it a fun road trip!
