Peony is the dog that just radiates sunshine! This girl is the happiest, wiggliest, most hilarious dog! Peony has never had a bad day and neither will her forever family because they get to soak up the silliness and love that Peony offers in abundance. She is a 5ish year old, 45lb staffie mix who has never met a stranger. She is fantastic with people, kids, dogs, and cats. Truly, she is perfect! Peony LOVES people; she has never met a stranger. She will kiss and wiggle her way into everyone's hearts. Despite her exuberance for life, she is wonderful with toddlers. She is gentle and loving. Peony is amazing with dogs of all sizes. She is super playful, but she can absolutely adjust her play style depending on the dog she's with. Our girl is also great with cats! She was fostered in a home with 2 cats and never cared to interact with them. Peony is a dog who really thrives on routine and structure. What does that mean? It means providing her with a lot of guidance inside and outside of the home – working on "place" work (this helps with impulse control and to settle inside the house), crate work, and proper exercise. When she's given this structure, she is absolutely wonderful. Without something to do, Peony can get overstimulated. With time, we know she will adjust to her forever home's routine. Peony is truly a dream boat. The kind of dog that is happy anywhere. She sparks joy.
Ideal Home
Peony thrives with routine and structure. She needs a home that can provide guidance with impulse control, crate work, and proper exercise. While she is wonderful with toddlers and cats, she can get overstimulated if she doesn't have an outlet for her energy.
Ongoing Health
Peony is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for her forever home in mid-August.
Training & Support
Peony is still working on loose-leash walking, as she just loves life and wants to run all over the place! Her adopter should be dedicated to working with her on training. She has the foundation; she will just need consistency with her forever home. Our rescue provides adopters with various training resources to set them up for success.

Transportation
Peony is currently in Houston, TX. We work with trusted transport partners to transport our dogs to over 30 cities in the United States. Adopters are also encouraged to pick up their new pet in Houston. Once an adoption is confirmed, our team will work with you to determine the best transport schedule.
