Gerald

Meet Gerald, a 3-year-old, 41-pound sweetheart who’s equal parts curious explorer and devoted cuddle bug.

Gerald has been doing great learning the ropes of home life and has taken to it like a pro. He’s been working on basic commands like sit, walks beautifully on leash, and absolutely loves getting out for sniffy walks where he can take in all the interesting scents at his own pace. He gets along wonderfully with his foster sibling—playing and exploring the yard together—and has also learned that it’s okay to chill, cuddle, and relax without needing to be "on" all the time.

This boy is a huge cuddler and craves connection with his people. He still offers the occasional nervous high five (which has already decreased a lot with time), and he gives them with so much sincerity it’s impossible not to smile. Gerald especially adores his foster dad, which makes us think he might be a bit of a "guy’s guy," though he’s loving with everyone once he feels safe.

Gerald is mostly quiet and easygoing. He may alert when guarding the yard, but he’s very responsive and easily redirected. He’s a submissive, gentle dog who can be super chill—and then suddenly decide it’s playtime when the mood strikes. While we don’t think he had much house experience before foster care, Gerald adapted incredibly quickly and hasn’t had a single accident since his first day.

Gerald is an easy, straightforward pup with a sweet, loving heart. Gerald is ready for a home where he can enjoy walks, play with a buddy, and soak up all the affection he’s been waiting for.
