Juice, a neutered 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix weighing about 56 lbs, is a sweet and charming boy with soulful eyes who is ready for a calm, loving home. He enjoys quietly hanging out with his person, resting his head and paw on your arm as his unique way of showing affection. Juice can be shy and wary of new people, but with slow, gentle introductions, he builds trust and becomes deeply loyal. He is not fond of unfamiliar dogs and prefers to be the only canine companion in the household to receive all the attention. Juice is also not a fan of cats and will chase them, so a cat-free environment is a must.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing takes time. A home without cats is required.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, which has been managed by feeding him separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, but this is easily managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness; harsh corrections can make him cower and feel guilty. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing and has had some potty accidents. He sleeps well in his crate through the night. He may need assistance getting into a car.
