Maximus

Meet Maximus! This handsome husky mix is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be by your side. He came to us from the county shelter and was a bit misunderstood in his previous situation. With a little patience and love, Maximus has blossomed into a wonderfully gentle and affectionate companion. He adores his people and will happily seek out cuddles and belly rubs. He's also great with kids and has learned commands like "sit" and "shake"!

Ideal Home

Maximus thrives with companionship, so a home with a dog friend or a family that is home often would be ideal. He can be anxious when left alone and may engage in destructive behaviors if not properly managed. He also enjoys digging and might try to escape a yard, so a secure outdoor space is important.

Training & Support

Maximus is a smart boy who responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement. He can sometimes be a little stubborn, but treats go a long way! He has a history of food-guarding with another dog, so feeding separately is recommended. His separation anxiety means he needs a patient owner who can work on gradual desensitization and provide him with enrichment when left alone. He is most comfortable when crated if his canine companion is nearby.
