Ryden

Ryden is a 3-year-old Akita with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Born on Christmas Day, this handsome big boy weighs 135 pounds but is convinced he's a lap dog. He loves being close to his people and enjoys spending his days relaxing in the yard, playing tug, and hanging out with his family. Ryden is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all veterinary care. He is house-trained, comfortable with home nail trims and brushing, and is professionally groomed every 2 months. Ryden eats a lamb and rice diet.

Ideal Home

Ryden is looking for a home that understands and appreciates large guardian breeds. His ideal family would have no young children (recommended age 14+; little kids make him uncomfortable), a securely fenced yard, and previous large-breed and/or Akita experience. A separate feeding area is also ideal. Ryden has some mild resource guarding with high-value bones and tends to eat quickly, so management during mealtimes is important. He also benefits from using a slow-water bowl.

Ryden is up to date on all veterinary care. He eats a lamb and rice diet.

Training & Support

Ryden is a well-mannered dog who knows: Sit, Down, Shake (both paws), Up, Stay, Come, and Wait at the door. He is trustworthy in the home and does well being left alone for a typical workday of up to 8 hours. Ryden has some mild resource guarding with high-value bones and tends to eat quickly, so management during mealtimes is important.
