SCOUT

Hiya! My name is SCOUT and I'm a sweet 3-year-old, 58 lb Labrador mix who is ready for my forever home! My life started off a little rough when I was abandoned under a bridge with my puppies. Thankfully, a kind stranger found us, but sadly my puppies were gone by the time help arrived, and I was left behind. I was brought to safety and received much-needed medical treatment for malnutrition and scabies. Now, I'm healthy, healed, and bursting with hope for a fresh start!

Ideal Home

I adore affection and will let you know when I'm ready for pets or playtime. I'm happy to meet new people and one of my favorite games is hiding a ball for my friends to find! While I'm generally happy and playful, I can be scared by loud noises like emergency vehicle sirens.

Ongoing Health

I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will be tested for heartworm and other concerns before traveling. It's not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work after adoption, and these costs are the adopter's responsibility.

Training & Support

I'm a smart girl who learns commands quickly and enjoy walks and playtime with my trusted humans. I love treats and sharing them is even more fun! My leash skills are a work in progress and will benefit from a well-fitted harness and dedicated training. I'm also a house-training student who will do best with frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement. My adopter should be prepared to help me if any prey drive behaviors arise, as this is currently unknown.

Transporation

I am currently in Mexico City. If a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver, my adoption fee of $840.00 CAD (including tax) will cover my airfare.
