Ernie is a neutered, 8-year-old male Pittie/Cattle Dog mix weighing around 63lbs. He was found running loose on a busy street and, despite being microchipped, his previous owner did not want him back. Ernie is described as a goofy, chill older gentleman who gets excited for walks and playdates. He has a history of being good with humans and animals and enjoys being part of the pack. He's been great with dogs of all sizes and allows his foster sibling to boss him around. While he hasn't formally met a cat, he shows interest without aggression and is thought to be fine with cats that don't mind him wanting to say hello. Ernie hasn't been around children, but his foster believes he would enjoy a home with them, as long as they are aware he is a bigger dog. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash, but dislikes crates and will try to escape. He is not destructive when left unsupervised, though he may whine or howl for a few minutes when crated if he knows you are home. Ernie loves to be by his human's side and is considered a great fit for many types of homes, including those with children or other pets, or for first-time dog owners.
