Duke is a playful, 4.5-year-old German Shepherd mix who is a master of self-entertainment! He's content chasing bugs, tossing his toys, and is a joy to have around. Duke is crate and house trained, and a quick learner, especially when treats are involved! He walks well on a leash, loves to play ball, and has experience living with other dogs and children. We recommend older children for Duke, as he's friendly but not keen on roughhousing or being handled roughly.
Ideal Home
Duke can resource guard affection and does best as the only dog in the home, or with an owner who understands how to manage resource guarding behaviors. He does well with female dogs his size or smaller. Larger, dominant male dogs may not be a good match, but submissive medium or smaller males could be a good fit. Duke can also be protective of his family within the home. A quieter home environment without a lot of strangers would be ideal, or he can be crated when guests are over. He is friendly with repeat visitors he's met properly and also when out and about on leash.
Ongoing Health
Duke has no ongoing health conditions mentioned.
Training & Support
Duke is already crate and house trained and walks well on a leash. He's a good boy who knows "sit" for a treat.
