Nona

Nona is a sweet and playful 1-year-old, 50 lb spayed female Staffie mix who is ready to bring laughter and love into your home! She's a little tank with a short, sturdy frame and an adorably front-heavy build. Nona loves to zoom around the backyard and greets her people with enthusiastic leaps when they come home. She's not overly needy but enjoys being near her humans and her whole body wiggles with joy when she's excited. Nona loves meeting new friends and has been practicing her socialization skills around town and with other dogs. She recently met a small child and did wonderfully! Nona has a charming stubborn streak and is incredibly clever, loving to figure out puzzles and navigate obstacles. She's highly motivated by toys and treats, making training a fun experience. Nona has mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners. She enjoys walks of up to 2-3 miles and is fully crate and potty trained, settling in beautifully overnight. Nona can be a bit of a shy watchdog and will sound the alarm if she hears something unfamiliar. Her adorable underbite makes her goofy expressions even cuter. She's dog-friendly and gets along well with her foster siblings, but would do best with a canine companion who is respectful of her favorite toys. While she hasn't been around cats or young children in a home setting, Nona may do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered children. She'd thrive with a confident canine friend or be perfectly happy as your one-and-only! Nona is expected to fill out into a sturdy, medium-to-large-sized dog.

Nona would do well in a home with a confident canine companion who is respectful of personal space and happy to share the spotlight. She may also be happy as an only dog. She might do well in a home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy.

Training & Support

Nona has mastered "sit" and is continuing to work on her leash manners. She is fully crate trained and potty trained, but will need continued reinforcement of her routine. She can be a shy watchdog and will sound the alarm if she hears or sees something unfamiliar.

Transporation

Nona is currently located in Texas and can be transported out of state when matched with an approved adopter. Transport is included in the adoption donation and runs every few weeks.
