Hi, I’m Chocolate! My name was given to me by the caring staff at the vet clinic who met me shortly after I was rescued. Even though I was scared and sick at the time, they said my gentle, loving personality reminded them of something sweet—so the name Chocolate stuck. For me, it also represents a brand-new beginning.
My life didn’t start out easy. One very hot day I was tied to my owner’s bicycle with a shoestring. I could barely breathe and my paws could hardly touch the ground. Thankfully, a kind woman saw what was happening and rushed over to help me. She untied me and even paid my owner so she could take me away and get me the help I needed. That moment changed my life forever.
At first I was a little confused and sad, because my old owner was all I had known. But soon I learned what real kindness and love feel like. Now I live with two wonderful foster moms who care for me like family. I also have a sweet human sister who gives me lots of kisses.
For the first time, I discovered things like soft beds, toys to play with, and even homemade chicken treats. I also have foster siblings to play with while we all wait for our forever homes. I love running and playing, especially with my foster sister Moom. I’m very affectionate and enjoy cuddles, kisses, and being close to my people. I’m fully potty trained and feel very comfortable in my crate—it’s my cozy safe space.
