Raisin

Raisin is a 6-month-old Shar Pei mix with a heart of gold. He was found abandoned by the side of a country road at just 3 months old, suffering from dry skin and a painful ear infection. Despite his discomfort, Raisin's sweet nature shone through, showering affection on anyone who offered him attention.

Ideal Home

Raisin loves everyone he meets, though he might take a moment to warm up. He is fantastic with other dogs of all sizes and also gets along well with cats. He's a playful pup who enjoys wrestling with his canine friends, but also loves to relax. Prospective adopters should be aware of the typical ongoing care requirements for Shar Pei breeds.

Ongoing Health

Raisin's skin has been treated with medicated baths and a special diet, and his ear infection was managed with antibiotics and a regular cleaning routine, both of which he has responded well to. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, has been dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. He continues to receive salmon oil with his meals to maintain healthy skin.

Training & Support

Raisin is house-trained, potty-trained, and has had no accidents. He willingly goes into his crate at night, anticipating a treat. He knows "sit" and "wait" commands. He walks beautifully on a leash without pulling and enjoys car rides, happily jumping in. He can be left unsupervised for 3-4 hours without issue.
