Luther

Meet Luther! This handsome 4-year-old Staffordshire terrier weighs in at 70 lbs and has been with our rescue for almost two years. We're so excited for him to find his forever home! Luther is a deaf dog, which means he communicates a bit differently, but it doesn't require much extra responsibility. He's a people-loving pup who enjoys toys, treats, and plenty of attention. He also has a blast playing in the water and is always up for a game of fetch followed by a cozy snuggle on the couch. Luther has a medium energy level and is ready to bring joy to his new family.

Ideal Home

Luther would be happy as an only dog or with a canine companion he gets along with. He has previously been around children of all ages, but we recommend a home without very young children as he is a sturdy boy and could easily knock them over. Because he is deaf, off-leash play in unfenced areas is not recommended, as he cannot hear if called.

Ongoing Health

Luther is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, neutered, and micro-chipped. He is heartworm negative and current on his monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Luther is house-trained and crate-trained, and he walks well on a leash. While he is generally dog-friendly, he can be selective with larger male dogs. When meeting other dogs, his deafness means his body language is his primary communication, and he may sometimes mount other dogs. He has, however, shown to play wonderfully with puppies.

Transportation

Luther is available for local meet and greets. He can also be adopted out of state to approved adopters, with an additional transport fee.
