Teddy

Teddy is a 7-year-old, 111-pound male Doberman mix with a gentle soul who’s still figuring out that the world can be a safe place. He’s a medium-energy boy who can be timid at first, and handling makes him a little unsure. Teddy is learning, slowly but surely, that people aren’t so scary. With patience and a calm approach, he starts to settle in—and once he trusts you, he bonds quickly. On leash, Teddy pulls moderately, mostly because he can feel unsure of new surroundings. He takes treats very gently and has shown zero issues around food. Right now, Teddy is still too nervous to show interest in toys, and we’re not even sure if he knows what toys are yet. He came to us with two other dogs who are also at the shelter. We’ll be placing him in playgroup soon so we can learn more about how he does with other dogs and update his bio after that.

Ideal Home

Teddy would do best in a home willing to give him a slow introduction and let him move at his own pace. He will need a cat-free home.

Ongoing Health

Teddy is being neutered and will receive a dental procedure due to his teeth being in rough shape. The total cost of Teddy’s medical care is $1,560.

Training & Support

Teddy is unsure of handling and new surroundings, so a patient and calm approach is recommended. He is still learning about toys.
