Gina is a delightful 8-month-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix, weighing in at 56lbs. She was found as a tiny puppy, abandoned in a cardboard box by a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home in Houston, TX, and is eagerly awaiting her forever family.
Gina thrives in the company of her canine companions. She adores playing tug-of-war with her smaller foster siblings and is always ready for a game. While she can be a little wary of larger, unfamiliar dogs due to a past incident, she's learning to be more confident. Gina lives harmoniously with dogs under 15 lbs and over 75 lbs, but slow introductions are recommended. She's a bit too interested in neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is best.
Ideal Home
Gina would do well in an active home with someone who will engage her in daily play. She would thrive with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) due to her excitable nature and tendency to jump. She would also be happy with a couple or a single adopter who can provide her with plenty of attention and exercise. A resident dog is recommended to keep her company and help burn off her puppy energy.
Ongoing Health
Gina is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed.
Training & Support
Gina is crate trained and is making progress with house training, having no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. As she's in her "puppy velociraptor stage," she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. Positive training and consistent socialization will be key to helping her grow into a well-mannered adult.
