About Wee Rocky
Meet Rocky!
Rocky is a 1-year-old, 9-lb Terrier mix who just might be the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people (who can blame him after being abandoned at a shelter?), he warms up quickly and soon reveals his true personality: a funny, affectionate little love bug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people.
His superpowers include making everyone fall in love with him, being an excellent cuddle buddy, and charming humans with his goofy personality. Rocky loves playing with toys, hanging out with his people, and curling up for a good snoozefest. He sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ and is happiest when he's part of the action-or napping nearby. Some of Rocky's favorite things are toys, naps, cuddle sessions, and spending time with his favorite humans.
Rocky is currently being fostered with cats and has been a perfect gentleman with them. He's also met other dogs and seems to enjoy their company, though he'll need proper introductions like any dog, but all signs point to him being a social little guy.
Rocky recently suffered a pelvic fracture that is healing well, so for the next couple of months he'll need to stick to low-impact activities like leisurely leash walks and low-key yard time while he finishes recovering. Despite his injury, he walks nicely on leash (unless he spots a squirrel, in which case all bets are off!) and stays close to his humans when exploring the yard off leash. Rocky appears to be mostly house-trained, but he'll benefit from frequent potty breaks and a consistent routine as he continues settling into home life. He can be a little vocal when left alone, but he's improving every day as he learns that he's safe and won't be abandoned again. Rocky also gets carsick, though it can be managed with medication.
If you're looking for a sweet, silly, loyal sidekick who will happily spend his days by your side, Rocky may be your perfect match. Rocky is currently being fostered in Westhampton, NY and his adoption fee is $550.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
