Gary is a 19-pound, 2-year-old terrier mix who has overcome a tough start in life. Found as a stray and brought to animal control, Gary is now safe with our rescue and ready to find a home that understands his needs. Gary is a sweet, sensitive dog who wants to trust, but he needs time and patience to feel secure. He warms up slowly and responds best to calm, gentle handling and high-value treats. Once he feels comfortable, Gary shows his affectionate side—he’ll happily curl up in your lap and enjoy quiet companionship. Gary is social with people once he feels secure and has shown interest in other dogs, though introductions should be managed carefully. He’s playful in short bursts and enjoys toys, but his favorite thing is feeling safe and loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are ready to give Gary the understanding and patience he deserves, he could be the perfect match for you.

Ideal Home

Gary needs a calm environment without young children to help him feel safe and build confidence. He requires a gradual approach to leashing and handling. He would need to meet any resident dogs.

Gary will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested.

Training & Support

Gary responds best to positive reinforcement, such as treats and encouragement, which will go a long way in helping him learn leash skills and trust.
