Sky

Sky, a 6-year-old, 13 lb Chi/Terrier mix, is a testament to resilience and the power of patient love. Rescued from a traumatic hoarding situation, Sky has transformed from a terrified shadow into a scruffy rockstar. He is a labor of love, a passion project for the patient soul ready to witness a remarkable transformation.

Ideal Home

Sky thrives in a home that understands trust is built, not given. A resident dog is a must, with multiple dogs strongly preferred, as he learns from his canine companions. Sky requires a patient adopter who is at peace with him not seeking immediate touch or attention; this can take weeks, months, or even longer. He is not the dog for someone seeking a quick connection.

Sky is content with an indoor-only lifestyle, mastering puppy pads and living more like a cat than a dog. While he is slowly working on harness comfort, leash exploration is a distant goal. His new family must be fully at peace with an indoor-only life for the foreseeable future, with no pressure to venture outdoors. He can still flinch at quick movements and needs his boundaries respected.

Ongoing Health

Sky is vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. He has been neutered, is heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Sky's grooming and harness training are ongoing. His new family needs to continue the reward-based work his trainer has started, respecting his pace and boundaries.
