Sofie

Sofie is a sweet, three-year-old Benji-type terrier mix who was once described as a "teddy bear." While she may be small, her personality is larger than life, and she absolutely adores her walks! Sofie's nickname here is "Sofie the Snapdragon" because she's a typical terrier with a lot of spirit and energy. She's still learning to be comfortable around new people and other dogs, especially when she's in her crate or on leash, and we're working on helping her gain confidence in these situations.

Ideal Home

Sofie needs a home that can meet her exercise needs and where her family has some experience with dog behavior. She would thrive in a calm environment with fewer visitors, as she prefers not to be in a busy household. Because of her sensitivities, Sofie would do best in a home without children. She may be able to live with a mellow dog if introductions are done carefully.

Ongoing Health

Sofie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms.

Training & Support

Sofie is still working on her socialization skills and can be sensitive to new people and dogs, particularly when she's on leash or in her crate. Her new family should be prepared to help her build confidence and continue the desensitization work she's started with us. We want her to feel empowered and comfortable, not sheltered.
