Rye is a sweet 16-month-old girl who was rescued from a high-kill shelter, narrowly escaping euthanasia. She was initially very fearful and unsure of her surroundings, as it's evident she hasn't always experienced kindness. When she first entered foster care, Rye was hesitant around people, always on guard, as if expecting something bad to happen.

Fortunately, Rye found solace and companionship with other dogs. Through their example, she's slowly learning that people can be kind. She's still a shy girl who requires time to build trust. She's not the type to immediately seek out cuddles; instead, she prefers affection on her own terms and needs patience to feel safe. However, once she bonds with you, she forms a quiet, loyal connection that is truly special. Rye has so much love to give and deserves a patient adopter who sees her potential and believes in her journey to becoming a confident companion.

Rye would do best in a home with at least one other friendly dog to help guide her. She can also do well with children who understand the importance of giving her space and allowing her to approach them at her own pace.
