A little about them
Sam, also known as Sammy and SamIAm, is an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been with his rescue for seven years. He is funny, curious, and friendly, with a playful, food-motivated personality.
Ideal Home
Sam must be the only pet and is not suitable for homes with small children. His adopter must live in upstate New York within one hour of Rochester.
Ongoing Health
Sam’s ankle was crushed during his first year while he was living on a chain. It was surgically plated, but his ankle will always remain crooked and he will always limp.
Training & Support

- Needs an adopter willing to work with his ADHD and mouthiness; anything within reach may end up in his mouth, though he is highly food motivated.
- Needs daily walks and mind games. He enjoys rolling several times during walks, so walks may be leisurely rather than long.
