About Bear Buddy Heart

Bear is a handsome, confident, and people-loving guy with a big personality. Estimated to be just over 1 year old and weighing 60 lbs, he's likely a pittie mix. Bear is eager to learn, treat-motivated, and responsive, making him a joy to train. He absolutely shines when it comes to people skills, seeking connection and happily participating in whatever you're doing. Bear is also fully house and crate trained, and enjoys lounging. While he's still in his puppy phase and experiencing a lot for the first time, he responds well to clear and consistent guidance, especially when it comes to managing his excitement on leash around other dogs. He's social and interested in other dogs, but his play can sometimes be a bit too enthusiastic. However, he has shown respect for other dogs' boundaries, like with a feisty chihuahua in his foster home. Bear has shown curiosity and restraint with cats, suggesting he could live peacefully with a dog-savvy, confident feline friend with slow introductions. He's active and engaged without being overly hyper, and would thrive in a home that provides regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training, especially with enrichment puzzles. Bear is a good dog with a big heart who is incredibly rewarding to train and shape into the best dog he can be.

Ideal Home

Bear would do well with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his size or playfulness. A dog-savvy, confident cat and slow introductions would be essential for him to live peacefully with a feline friend. He thrives in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training.

Ongoing Health

Bear is up-to-date on all vetting and comes with a health certificate deeming him healthy for travel.

Training & Support

Bear is a work in progress and will need continued guidance on leash when he sees other dogs, though he responds to corrections and can settle. He can be a little too strong or pushy in play with other dogs initially but learns to respect boundaries with structure and proper introductions.
