Zia

Zia is a sweetheart who is very loving and makes the cutest "ahroos"! She came to us after being owner-surrendered from a shelter, having been purchased from a pet store. Sadly, she arrived with no hair and urine-stained legs due to being tied up outside and then crated 24/7. Her DNA indicates she is 100% Siberian Husky with no health issues, though she is considered special needs due to past inbreeding. Zia needs a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to work with her and learn her cues for when she needs to go outside. She used to run circles constantly but has significantly slowed down with a more stable life. She doesn't require a crate but will use one if needed. Zia is a very loving girl and is worth every second you put into caring for her.

Ideal Home

Zia loves people and children and would do best in a home where someone is present most of the time. She gets along well with most other dogs, though she does get into playful "fights" with one of the resident males. She is not a good fit for a home with cats, as she tends to bother them.

Ongoing Health

Zia is considered special needs due to her past experiences. She has fully recovered and her DNA shows no health issues.

Training & Support

Adopters will need to learn Zia's cues for needing to go outside. While she has significantly reduced her tendency to run circles, continued positive reinforcement and a stable environment will help her maintain this progress.
