Rex is a joyful, playful, and energetic Cattle Dog mix who is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 35 lbs. He was rescued as a young puppy and has spent his life so far in a shelter, eagerly awaiting his forever family. Rex is sweet and enjoys being near his people, though he's not overly clingy. He has a fun personality and is always ready for adventure. He's also very social and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people. Rex is intelligent and eager to learn, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained.
Ideal Home
Rex would thrive in an active and loving family that enjoys outdoor activities like running, hiking, and including him in everyday adventures. He needs a family willing to give him structure, patience, and love. A home with a fenced backyard is required. Rex is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Rex has received extensive health treatments, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, a 4DX test, and a negative heartworm test. He is on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He also has a health certificate and a vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Rex is not house-trained, and adopters should be aware that the shelter cannot provide house-training for all their rescued animals. The ideal adopter will have experience in dog behavior and training, high tolerance, and patience for rescued animals who may need extra education and protection. Adopters should be willing to give him at least three months to show his best personality.
