Mona

Mona is a gorgeous 2-year-old Mountain Cur mix who, through no fault of her own, found herself needing a new loving home. Her previous owner fell on hard times and knew these dogs deserved a brighter future. Now, Mona is blossoming and learning all about being a cherished pet. She's a sweet, smart, and active girl who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Mona is an energetic goofball with a special love for stuffy toys! Volunteers describe her as independent in a good way, enjoying affection but also happy to do her own thing. She walked well on a leash, was eager to explore with her nose, and did a great job at a restaurant, only needing gentle reminders to return when she wanted to greet people and other dogs. We promised Mona that the rest of her life would be the best of her life. Could you be the one to make that promise come true?

Ideal Home

Mona would thrive in a home that appreciates her independent spirit while also offering plenty of love and attention. She enjoys doing her own thing but is also happy to be by your side.

Ongoing Health

Mona has been spayed, vaccinated, and is in excellent health.

Training & Support

Mona is learning to be a "real dog" and is doing a great job. She has shown good leash manners and responded well to redirection. Continue to encourage her independence while reinforcing positive behaviors.

Transporation

Mona is located in South Carolina, and transport to the northeast is available weekly. Applicants not located along the East Coast should be willing to travel to pick up their new pet. Local or virtual meet-and-greets can be arranged with an application on file.
