Meet Gina!
Gina is a delightful 1-year-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix, weighing in at 56lbs. She was found abandoned as a tiny puppy, sleeping in a cardboard box near a busy road, but thanks to a wonderful foster, she's now ready to find her forever family! Gina is a smart and playful girl who absolutely loves toys and will happily gather them all in her bed. She enjoys playing fetch and can also entertain herself.
Ideal Home
Gina would do best in an active home where she can get plenty of daily play and exercise. She'd thrive with a family who understands how to raise a big, active pup into a well-mannered adult, providing regular socialization, positive training, and enrichment. While she loves human attention, she has not been around children in foster care and can be jumpy when excited. Because of this, we suggest a home with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up). She would also benefit from having another dog in the home to keep her company and help her burn off energy. A cat-free home is recommended as she can be a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood kitties.
Ongoing Health
No specific ongoing health conditions are mentioned in her listing.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can be crated for up to 8 hours. She walks pretty well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She does prefer to eat her treats alone and is in the "puppy velociraptor stage," so she will need guidance on appropriate chew toys. Slow introductions are recommended for new dog friends, as she was previously attacked by adult dogs and can be apprehensive of unfamiliar dogs, sometimes barking at them. She has experience living with small dogs under 15 lbs and large dogs over 75 lbs.
