Toby is a delightful 1-year-old, 11 lb. French mix who is brimming with love, affection, and boundless energy. He absolutely adores going for walks, loves to run, and enjoys playing with other dogs. Toby has a special fondness for men! His journey to us was not an easy one; he was abandoned and later suffered an injury from a car accident. He required extensive care to recover but is now healthy. Toby can sometimes experience bursts of anxiety-fueled energy, and he's looking for an active and patient family to help him channel his joy through play, exercise, and plenty of love. He is loyal and affectionate, and he's eagerly waiting for his second chance at a forever home.
Ideal Home
Toby would thrive in a home with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has a tall, fenced backyard. A family with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued street animals would be ideal. Experience in dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a commitment to hiring a professional trainer to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential. High tolerance and patience for a rescued pup are essential.
Ongoing Health
Toby has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He also received a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are included.
Training & Support
It's important to understand that rescued dogs like Toby may require an adjustment period. They might have fears or anxieties from past experiences and need time to adapt to new environments and people. Patience, understanding, and establishing a consistent routine with clear boundaries will be crucial in building trust and a strong bond with Toby. Toby is not currently house-trained, and adopters should be prepared to work on this.

Transportation
Toby is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery service. Our transport company organizes trips 3-4 times a year, with a dedicated team that collects adopted pets in Mexico and transports them across the border into Texas for US adoptions. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group, including photos, videos, and arrival estimates. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD applies.
