About Leah

You've got to meet our girl Leah. She is so ready to be loved and deserves her happy ending. Leah is a 3-year-old, 27 lb female terrier mix who was abandoned during a family crisis. Her world changed suddenly, but this quiet, gentle girl is hoping someone will see her and give her the safe, loving home she deserves. Leah is the perfect little princess companion. She is bigger than a pocket pup, but never underfoot. She is sweet, independent, calm, and easy to love. She is not a fan of being carried around – no doggie air jail for this girl – but she is very happy keeping you company with all four paws on the ground or laying next to you. She loves long naps on her sofa bed, belly rubs, booty scratches, car rides, and walks outside. She does well with other furry friends but would also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. Leah is not treat-obsessed, but she will absolutely give you those quiet, soulful eyes until you consider sharing. At first, Leah can be timid and may even put on a little growly front, but it is just her way of saying, "I'm scared. Please be kind." With patience and love, she softens quickly and shows you the tender, loyal girl underneath. Leah does not need much. Just a calm home, a soft place to rest, and someone who will never let her feel unwanted again.
