Hi, I'm Kai, a one-year-old Shepherd mix with soulful eyes and a gentle heart. I can be a little shy at first, but once we've had a chance to get acquainted, I'll be nudging your hand for pets and giving you my undivided attention. I thrive in calm, structured environments and enjoy having a purpose, whether it's a game of fetch, a leisurely walk by your side, or simply relaxing after a fun activity. I walk nicely on a leash, I'm quite athletic, and fetch is my absolute favorite game – sometimes I'll even bring the ball right back to your hand! I'm still building confidence and working on consistency with housetraining, but I'm very eager to learn and bond with my people. I do best with patient humans who are home often and willing to help me navigate some anxiety and my unique quirks. At FOHA, I've gotten along well with other dogs, and with the right match and a slow introduction, I could enjoy canine companionship. I'm not currently cat-tested, but given my interest in small animals and birds, a cat-free home would be best. I am very fearful around children, so I'm looking for an adult-only home where I can feel safe.
