Meet Ivan, the Iconic! This handsome, 1.5-year-old, 50-pound goofball is a charming pittie/staffy-mix with big ears and an even bigger heart. Ivan absolutely loves life and all that comes with it, especially toys, playing fetch (though he might decide to keep the toy for himself sometimes!), and splashing in water. He's a wiggly, enthusiastic, and affectionate boy who warms up quickly, turning into a snuggly cuddle bug once he knows you. Ivan is treat-motivated and eager to please, making training a fun and rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female dog who enjoys playing but can also set boundaries when needed. He needs a feline-free home, as he views cats as fun targets to chase. While he's generally sweet and gentle with humans, his energetic nature means he'd be best suited for a home with older children who won't be easily knocked over during his zoomies. He could learn to give younger children space with time. A yard to play in, an active adopter, and someone who enjoys training and play with clear boundaries and routine would be ideal for him.

Ivan is still learning to read the room with other dogs and can sometimes be a bit much for quieter or more insecure dogs due to his playful, bouncy nature. He responds very well to clear social cues from other dogs and his people. With guidance, he happily takes breaks and checks in. He is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making him a joy to train.

Ivan is located in the Greater Houston area, Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our rescue's USDA-certified transport system, which includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You can track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. There is an $87 surcharge for transportation due to rising costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
