Meet Daisy!
Daisy is a 2-year-old Coton de Tulear/Poodle mix weighing just 7 pounds. This sweet girl is still learning that the world can be a safe place and is looking for a patient family who will give her the time and understanding she needs to build trust and confidence.
While Daisy can be a little nervous, she truly wants to be around people and enjoys being part of the action. She is looking for a calm, predictable home where she can continue learning about the world at her own pace and feel supported every step of the way.
Daisy gets along well with other dogs and takes a lot of comfort from them. She often follows her canine friends around and looks to them for guidance and reassurance when learning about new people and situations. Because of this, Daisy requires a home with another confident dog already in the household who can help her continue gaining confidence and show her the ropes.
She also requires a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and enjoy time with her canine companion. Daisy loves toys and has a playful side, although she is still a little shy about showing it around people. One of her adorable habits is gathering up her toys and bringing them back to the comfort of her bed.
Daisy is also still discovering the joys of treats and learning what all the excitement is about, but she has been enjoying the process and continuing to come out of her shell.
Daisy is currently enrolled in our behavior program, and our behavior team would love to speak with interested adopters to discuss her progress and the work we have been doing with her. She has been more sensitive toward handling, and we want to help set both Daisy and her future family up for success by ensuring adopters understand her needs and how to continue supporting her confidence-building journey.
A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for both Daisy and her potential adopters.
Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
