Marcella

Marcella is a beautiful 5-6 year-old German Shepherd who had a rough start. She was placed on the euthanasia list due to a severe, untreated gash on her leg. Instead of receiving the care she needed, she was surrendered to a kill shelter and given only days to live. Thankfully, that wasn't the end of her story! Marcella is now safe and has undergone surgery to repair her leg. While her physical wounds are healing, she is still on a journey of recovery. We believe she spent much of her life isolated outdoors as a guard dog, with limited positive human interaction, which has left her fearful and reactive towards people. Our dedicated team is providing her with professional behavioral training to help her learn that humans can be kind, safe, and trustworthy. Healing isn't always just physical, and we're committed to helping Marcella through this next chapter.

Ideal Home

Marcella is currently undergoing professional behavioral training to overcome her fear and reactivity towards humans. We are looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can continue her progress in a calm and stable environment.

Ongoing Health

Marcella has undergone surgery to repair a severe leg wound. She is receiving ongoing medical care and will continue to heal.

Training & Support

Marcella is fearful and reactive toward humans due to her past experiences. She is currently in professional behavioral training to build trust and positive associations with people. Continued training and a patient approach will be essential for her to thrive.
