Chester

Chester has not lived the life he was born to live. Instead, he survived a life of neglect, barely making it outdoors in someone's backyard through wind, heat, cold, and storms, with flies eating his ears and face as he waited. When we met Chester, he wasn't barking or jumping up; he was quietly sitting in the corner, not expecting attention, having made peace with his circumstances. We knew we couldn't let that be all he'd ever know. We promised him a better life, one where his beautiful and kind soul would be cherished. He was a little unsure getting into the car but sat quietly the whole drive home. Once outside, he walked nicely beside us on a leash during a ranch walk. We made him a comfortable bed in his kennel, showed him the doggy door, and gave him food. Chester is incredibly sweet and so thankful for simple things like air conditioning, a soft bed, and a meal. We know an even better place awaits him where he can truly learn what love is.

Ideal Home

Chester would do well in a home with other respectful dogs. He gets along well and isn't aggressive, but he can be easily intimidated by loud or boisterous dogs. He enjoys walks or sniff time in the yard and would prefer a calm lifestyle, with exercise being secondary.

Training & Support

Chester is fantastic at using his doggy door and has become comfortable getting in and out of the car. He appreciates a calm environment.
