Amos is a wonderful 7-year-old chocolate Beagle mix who joined us in the summer of 2023 as part of a large group of Beagles rescued from a hoarding situation. It's been a journey, but Amos has finally blossomed and is ready to find his forever family!
He's a smart cookie with good house manners, especially with the convenience of a dog door. While he might occasionally mark another male's food bowl, it's more about establishing his alpha status than a true training issue. Amos is gentle with his toys, rarely destroying them, and generally leaves things alone unless they've recently held food. As you'd expect from a Beagle, he has a very strong food drive!
Amos enjoys playing with the pack and loves a good chase. He's an alpha dog and would do best in a home with a more submissive canine companion. He's only recently started to enjoy human affection and truly revels in the attention he receives. He also does well with children and would be thrilled to have young people to romp around with in a yard!
While he hasn't quite reached snuggling status yet, Amos actively seeks out one-on-one attention. We're confident he'll get there, and it would be amazing for him to have his own loving family when he's ready for that next step in his journey.
