Meet Mateo, a resilient and charming pup who's ready to find his forever family. Mateo is a handsome boy, approximately 4-5 years old, with a personality as vibrant as his spirit. He's a happy, goofy dog who adores attention and isn't afraid to "chat" with you to let you know what he's thinking. Mateo's journey has been one of many changes, but he's never lost his zest for life. Now, he's with Border Tails Rescue, eagerly awaiting a stable and loving home.

Ideal Home

Mateo would thrive in a calm, suburban or rural environment where he can feel secure. City living can be overwhelming for him due to loud noises and constant activity. He also has a strong prey drive, so a home without cats is essential. He does enjoy the company of other dogs, though.

Ongoing Health

Mateo is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. Border Tails Rescue will continue to support his medical needs throughout this process.

Training & Support

Mateo has a higher energy level and would do best with an experienced owner who can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. While he gets along well with other dogs, he may need some guidance on leash manners when he's overstimulated.
