About Brownie

Brownie is a 4-year-old, 35 lb male Labrador mix who was rescued as a puppy after suffering from severe mange. He has some scars and patches of white fur as a result, but they are just part of his unique charm! Brownie is a very energetic and affectionate boy who loves to be around people and soak up all the attention. He has a funny fascination with water and will happily play in it whenever he gets the chance. After spending 4 years in a shelter, he's really hoping to find a loving home where he can finally get the exercise, structure, and patience he deserves to thrive.

Ideal Home

Brownie would do best in a home with a securely fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a home where his adopters have experience with dog behavior and training, or are willing to hire a trainer to help him succeed. Families need to have high tolerance and patience for rescued dogs, understanding their need for protection and education. A home with experienced adopters and a strong commitment to rescue is essential.

Ongoing Health

Brownie was rescued as a puppy with severe mange, which has left him with some scars and patches of white fur. He has a complete health protocol including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, 4DX test, negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Brownie is very energetic and anxious, and he loves to chew. He has worn teeth from gnawing on various items. He knows how to use a crate but becomes stressed when confined for long periods. He has not yet been leash trained and can be anxious during transport. He is not house-trained. Brownie will need patience and understanding as he adjusts to a new environment.
