Chicken is an adorable 4-year-old, approximately 14 lb bundle of potential! He came to us very under-socialized and is still a bit of a chicken when it comes to loud noises, sudden movements, or being reached for quickly. He does not bite but rather tries to get away, which is easily managed with a short leash for easier handling and walks. His foster is working on building his confidence with touch and cuddles, and he's making great progress! Chicken loves going on walks, napping in the sun, following his humans, treats, and especially other dogs. He enjoys playing tug-of-war and walks closely by their side. He also rides very well in the car! Every day, we see how much he wants to leave his past behind and become a confident boy. With the right environment and patient guidance, Chicken will surely blossom into the confident dog he's meant to be!
Ideal Home
Chicken needs an adult-only home or one with children over the age of 16. He really needs another confident dog in the home to learn from and feel secure. He also requires a backyard to help him establish a routine for potty training.
Ongoing Health
Chicken is up-to-date on his vaccinations and preventative medications. He is also microchipped with no registration fees.
Training & Support
Chicken is working on his housebreaking and crate training. He uses pee pads well and has started to go potty on leash, but not yet while walking. He will need continued patience and positive reinforcement to build his confidence with touch and cuddles. He does not bite but will try to get away from things that startle him.
