Meet Chanel, a brave and resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who has overcome a difficult start. She was found abandoned at a shelter in New Mexico and was on the euthanasia list before we brought her to Texas to give her a second chance. She has since blossomed into an energetic and happy dog who even donates blood to help save other lives! While her transformation is incredible, she is still learning to trust and is searching for a patient family. Chanel enjoys playing with toys and balls, especially soft squeakers, though she can be a bit startled by loud noises and is still figuring out how to play with them. Because of her past, she can be a bit flinchy when hands approach her, so she needs a gentle and understanding environment where she can feel truly safe and take things at her own pace.
Ideal Home
Chanel would thrive in a home with a patient family who can help her rebuild her faith and learn to trust again. A canine companion would also be beneficial for her.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and has been spayed/neutered. She also receives flea and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Chanel is still working through her past trauma and can be flinchy around approaching hands. She needs continued gentle training and patience to help her feel safe and build trust. She is learning how to play with toys and may need guidance in this area.

Transportation
Chanel is currently located in Texas. She is available for transportation to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN, and OH. Transportation is available to AZ soon. Predetermined locations and times apply. The adoption and transportation fee ranges from $100-500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with the adopted family assuming financial responsibility. For Texas adopters, there is a flat rate fee of $250 for transportation within the state. Animals are transported in air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. You can follow your pet's journey through a private Facebook event page, with photos, updates, and communication. Our Adoption Coordinator will help find the closest transport pick-up location. For pick-up at our Angleton, TX location, there is a $75 fee which includes all vetting.
