Maggie is a 2-year-old chihuahua mix who came to us from Mexico, where she was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When she arrived, our vets determined she needed double back knee surgery for luxating patellas in both her back knees. Thanks to her dedicated foster mom, Maggie has recovered beautifully and is like a brand-new dog!
Maggie is a true joy to have around. She can be a bit shy and untrusting at first, but once she knows you want to be her friend, she'll be your best friend! She's goofy and enjoys playing with other dogs, though she may need a few days to warm up to them. While she loves cuddles, especially during the cold winter months, she prefers her cuddle space to be all hers and may snap if disturbed while sleeping. She's kennel-trained and enjoys her den, and she's also mostly potty-trained, having accidents only occasionally. Maggie sleeps soundly in bed with her foster mom all night. She's generally fine with cats; more active felines might pique her interest for play, but she leaves laid-back cats alone. She will bark at new people entering the house but calms down, and she may growl if someone is too intrusive, but she never snaps or bites. She just needs a little extra time to learn new people are okay!
Ideal Home
